Meet Our Writers:

Ryan Fisher
Lead Writer and Founder
Hello! My name is Ryan Fisher and I am a passionate science student and freelance professional! I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Biology with minors in Religion and Environmental Studies from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. In addition to my basic biology interests, I have a particular love for niche studies such as botany, ornithology, mycology, and entomology. During my undergrad, I have had the pleasure to work on multiple research experiences, ranging from marine metabolomics to developmental biology. As for my writing career, I have worked as a freelancer writer, proofer, and formatted for the past three years!

Breana Downs
Writer
Hey everyone! My name is Breana Downs. I recently graduated with my bachelors degree in Biology with a minor in Environmental Studies from Pacific Lutheran University. During my time as an undergrad I participated in food science and wildlife rehabilitation internships as well as published my first scientific paper on extrusion processing. Beyond the laboratory, I am an advocate for conservation, environmental stewardship, and educational outreach. I became a writer for Everyday Science because I believe educational outreach is the number one driver of positive change!
